Chinese Chang’e 4 Rover is roaming the far side of the moon conducting scientific experiments and collecting the valuable data. As the Rover is roaming the earth, the Chinese satellites are orbiting the moon and capturing the images of the same. Today, the Chinese government shared a stunning image taken by the orbiting satellite. The image is of the far side of the moon with Earth in the background. Chinese Longjiang-2 satellite which is the orbit of Moon took this image when it was ongoing from the far side.

Longjiang-2 satellite was launched in June 2018 with the Quequiao satellite. The QueQuiao satellite is the communication satellite which performed the duty of sending and receiving the signals from Chang’e-4 space probe on the far side of the moon. The Quequiao satellite is near geosynchronous to the moon and relays the signals back and forth from the Longjiang-2 and Chang’e-4 rover on the moon. It’s still relaying the data back and forth. While the Chang’e-4 mission was ongoing, the Longjiang-2 satellite was sent in the hibernation to prevent any disturbance between communication for moon landing of the rover.

As the landing of the rover is successful, Longjiang-2 is back in action and is taking stunning pictures of the Moon. The photo is taken on 3rd February, and the Dwingloo Radio telescope which is keeping an eye on the satellite downloaded the picture. The picture shows the stunning far side of the moon with the meteorite collision craters and the blue earth in the background. The Longjiang-2 has already taken a few shots of the far side of the moon, but this is the first image that contains earth in the background.
